In-Game Terms
| Turn | A turn (sometimes incorrectly referred to as a tick) is the indication of the start of the update where all materials, battles and movement is re-calculated. In standard Darkgalaxy games the turn length is 60 minutes. Speedgames have varying turn lengths but are usually 1 minute long. The number of turns passed since the beginning of the round can be found in the top right hand corner of the game screen. |
| Colonists | Colonists are all the untrained people living on your planets. They require housing to live in and food to keep them alive and breeding. |
| Workers | Workers is the term used to describe how many free colonists you have available to start building, producing or training. To see how many Workers you require for any action, please read the Building list, Ship List and Training pages. |
| Soldiers | Are the only units that can attack ground and therefore win you a new planet. Load these into your invasion ships when you head to a planet you wish to invade. They are also the best ground defence against hostile attack. |
| Scientists | Are required to begin and maintain your research. Read about Research | Training | You are able to train soldiers to defend and invade planets, and scientists to research better technology. |
| Cargo Ships | These are non-combat ships and will not aid you in directly attacking enemy fleets. Cargo Ships include Freighters, Merchants, Traders and Hulks. Invasion ships are special cargo ships which can only contain soldiers. Read more about ships here. |
| War Fleet | A War fleet is any fleet that is predominantly made up of ships with fire-power. These include Fighters, Bombers, Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers and Battleships. Read more about ships here. |
| Farming | The style of play where you and/or your alliance deliberately remain out of the fighting while stockpiling resources, ships and soldiers for either a score boost or in preparation to attack an alliance. | Power Block | The specific term for an MPP consisting of extremely large and powerful alliances. |
