Does anyone know how you change the style for the Category bar at the bottom of pages? This has not been set up the with DG colour scheme and shows white. - Peteremcc
- Yes. The CSS changes have already been sent to Scan around 3 weeks ago. My admin rights are not enough - i would need access to the actual css files ... and that's something only scan seems to have -fin 21:04, 15 April 2006 (BST)
Adding/Improving Pages
I have created a new page for people to list pages they think should be added to the Manual or any improvements that should be made to existing pages. - Peteremcc
Naming Pages
I think it is important to set a naming convention for pages now before the problem gets completely out of hand.
This problem stems from the fact that Alliance List is a different page from [Alliance list]. In page names, capitalisation matters.
Already we have many different pages with some words capitalised and others not and there must be a standard to stop confusion.
For example, on the main page there is a link to Rules and Etiquette and also History of the game.
Therefore I suggest the usage of the english system for titles of pages. Each Word Begins With An Upper Case Character And The Rest Of The Word Is In Lower Case, Like This Sentence. - Peteremcc
- My suggestion would be a system like the german one: first word + all nouns have a capitalized first character. all non-nouns are lowercase (d'oh) -fin 14:17, 16 April 2006 (BST)
- This is what you would normally use but it causes lots of confusion, for example why capitalise "Rules and Etiquette" but not "Building list" or "Quick Start Guide" but not "Mail system" (these are all names I haven't edited). Then there is the whole issue of nouns... most of the pages in this manual will be nouns, not the particular word but the title will be the name of the feature or page it describes... "Mail System" is the name of the page/feature it describes. - peteremcc
- By the way, did you see this... New Main Page, what do you think?
- ad main page: it looks nice ... ad naming: i mean nouns to be capitalized ... that would make "Building List", "Mail System" etc - only the linking words like "and" should be lowercase ... -fin 18:19, 16 April 2006 (BST)
- For the renaming of pages: I vote for first word + nous capital letters, adverbs, adjectives, linking words etc pp for small letters -- Neon 12:04, 1 May 2006 (BST)
- The simplest system might be to have only the first word with a capital letter, like this sentance. It also means that there will be less confusion arising from people whose English is not perfect ;) - Harliquin

- new page, too wide...
- btw, regarding translations, i suggest:
- English: Main Page
- English: Navigation
- Português: Página Principal
- Português: Navegação
- or
- Portuguese: Main Page
- Portuguese: Navigation
- not sure whats best - page names in english (thus title too) or translated (no need for subtitle)
- rather than having the english pages laying around without tags, rather than using "-" to in the names, etc
- also, we need the Namespaces working. Portuguese namespace is misspelled. there is no pages in there
- i would help more if you guys had given me access to features like moving things around the namespace and such. mod and admin stuff

Renaming Pages
Whether you are fixing a problem in a title (see above) or simply moving or combining pages, there are important things to remember to do when you move a page and its contents.
Moving a page does not change any links to that page. You should look at the 'What links here' page and fix any links so they point to the pages new location.
Using the move button at the top of the page automatically adds a redirect to the old page. If you move a page manually you should add this redirect yourself like so... #Redirect [[<New Page Name Here>]]
If the page you have moved was popular you should probably leave (or add) a redirect to the old location, this redirects anyone who visits this page from bookmarks or external pages.
Otherwise, the old location can be added to the list of pages to be deleted, see below. - Peteremcc
Deleting Pages
If you would like a page deleted, add it to the list on the Pages For Deletion page.
Administrators can then review the request and delete the page if appropiate. - Peteremcc
Hall of fame
Peteremcc, I apprciate the work you are doing on the DG wiki. But plz stick to the form that S&Z decided to be used for the round names. For example Saturn and Mars had been different Servers so they deserve different pages and not a "Round x" page for both servers. : Neon 18:51, 26 April 2006 (BST)
