The alliance feature in Dark Galaxy is no doubt, one of its best.

You can go to the alliance page by clicking on the ‘Alliances’ button in the top bar.

Outside an Alliance

When first starting up, you will not be in any alliance and will have a long list of alliances that have been already formed throughout the entire universe.

You now have two options:

1. Join an existing alliance

You can now choose an alliance that you are interested in and request to join it.

The alliance list is laid out in columns of:

  • Alliance name: the name the leader has chosen for the alliance
  • Score: joint score of all alliances members
  • Leader: admiral of the alliance, can be useful to contact via mail system
  • Members: total number of the alliance's members

It is advisable to look for an alliance to join, instead of selecting one at random. You can always find out more about the alliance membership and recruitment from the forums (http://www.darkgalaxy.com/forums/) or by connecting to IRC and speaking to one of the alliances. You can read how to log on to IRC by reading the IRC walkthrough

2. Create an alliance

If you prefer starting your own alliance, then all you have to do is to scroll to the bottom of the page to the 'create an alliance' section. Type in the desired name for your alliance (3-30 chars.) and the acronym (2-8 chars.).

Things to remember:

  • The acronym can only be characters from the chosen name of your alliance.
  • The alliance acronym can not be longer than the name
  • Alliance names must not use swear words or offensive words.

Inside an Alliance

Once inside an alliance you have the following screen:

You have three main pages for your alliance (in Red):

1. Alliance home/members (in Green)

Here you can find the general alliance info (score, members and so on). But also you have the name and score of each individual member.

You can also see if members have recruiting or moderating abilities. Recruiting member can invite and accept new member to the alliance, while moderating members can moderate the in-game alliance forum. Both abilities are given by alliance leader.

You can leave the alliance by clicking on the 'Leave Alliance' link at the bottom of the alliance members list. Remember that it take 24 turns for you to complete leaving the alliance.

2. Alliance Forum

Here you can use the forum to communicate with your fellow alliance members.

You can start new threads if you which or post in old ones (as long as thread is not closed).

3- Alliance Admin

In this section the alliance leader and members with the recruiting ability can invite new players and accept new members to the alliance. Keep in mind that there is a limit of 100 possible members in an alliance.

If you want to invite players simply type in the name of the player (correctly) and click on the ‘invite player’ button.

In this section the alliance leader can also disband the alliance (in Yellow). You must remember that you can not disband an alliance that still has members.

It takes 24 turns to kick a player from your alliance. You can disband your alliance immediately once the Alliance is empty, and you are able to join a new alliance or create another one straight away.
